🎨🧑‍đŸ’ģ JSON enhancements for color tokens and theming

When working with color tokens in the JSON editor, the community has requested we explore some better ways to:

  • Import color values via JSON and have the plugin convert the color values to tokens to ease the manual process of setting up a new brand/product color theme.

  • Ensure the JSON output for non-hex color spaces accurately reflects the value that matches the format

    • Today when using the color picker in the plugin, it saves the value as hex in JSON regardless of choosing RGBA or HSL. The workaround is to manually paste the HSL or RGBA values into the JSON.

  • Import JSON files from a different directory to add theme data to an exsiting token setup (Github Issue #1238)

💭 How might we...

Enhance the user experience of working with more sophisticated color workflows in the plugin which take advantage of the JSON editor to make setting up new color design decisions faster and ensure the code accurately reflects those decisions?
