š āļø Import Variable Enhancements
With some part of our community uses import variables, they have expressed some enhancements to improve their workflow:
Requested Import Variable Features to support:
Import Variables should include Themes [Pro]
Currently when importing variables,
collectionsandmodesare translated to sets and subsets and donāt include the pluginās Themes. We might want to support this as exporting variables translates theme-groups and themes (for pro users) to Figmaās variablecollectionsandmodes.
Selective Import of Variable Modes
When importing variables into the plugin, itās good to have the ability to select which variable modes will be imported. This would provide greater control and flexibility during the import process, allowing users to tailor the import to their specific needs.
Importing Typography Variables
Loader / Indicator for Importing Variables
Import Variables in Order Created
Also Import (update) Deleted Modes or Collections

We could consider using naming conventions like
_token-name(folder-name)or.tokens-name(folder-name). These names might be excluded when we use the "Import variables" feature from Tokens Studio, as they could be automatically filtered out, preventing them from being imported.benjaminpreiss

On second glance, the design tokens plugin seems to be working just fine. But instead there is a Figma bug where it wonāt publish variables:

That sucks @benjaminpreiss !! Iām going to approve this post then merge it into the import variables posts we have so you can add wishes and painpoints there and get notified as we make improvements. (:
